This turned out to be a very interesting book that mixes elements of Snow White with the real world along with an intriguing look at family and race.

I can't say I really fell in love with, or even liked for that matter, any of the players in the book. However, the writing style as well as the plot kept me riveted. There was a very smooth and almost natural feel about how the story would weave in and out of reality and touches of fantasy. At times I even questioned the nature of the characters themselves as if they somehow were of another realm. I will say that the ending (view spoiler)[ left something to be desired. At the same time, it was done well enough to give me a sense of closure as far as "this is where the story ends and it's pleasing". I just don't like how a promising plot twist turned from intriguing to sexual degeneracy. (hide spoiler)]

Even with its quirks that left me feeling so-so it was still worth the read. I do wish it was a bit longer but this book didn't leave me wanting.
